The Operator's Map
Find out what you should stop holding.
A 30-minute audit of where your work actually lives, and whether you should be the one holding it. One page, a pen and an honest look at your week.
How it works
Three steps, about 30 minutes.
Dump everything
List every task, responsibility and recurring activity you carry in a week. Write what you actually do, not what you should be doing. Include the small stuff, the things you do because no one else does.
Sort with two questions
For each item: does this energise me or drain me? Am I excellent at this? Place it in the matching zone.
Read the map
Everything in the bottom half needs to leave your hands this quarter. The top right is your work. The aim is 80% of your week there.
The four zones
Where each task lands.
Learn or Let Go
Energises you, but not your best work. Master it or hand it off.
Own It
Energises you and you're excellent at it. This is your operating zone. Protect it.
Drop It
No passion, not your best. It leaves your hands as fast as you can make it happen.
Earn & Exit
You're great at it, but it costs you. Document it, systemise it, delegate it.
The top row energises you; the bottom row drains you. Watch the top left. You love it, so you hold it. But loving a task isn't the same as owning it. If you're not the best person for it, you're capping the result and blocking the right person from owning it.
